“I started playing at a very young age. My step Dad was a full-time drummer, so drums were always available to play on. The defining moment for me to choose music as a career was seeing Motley Crue in concert in 1986. Tommy Lee’s playing and showmanship was amazing! He is a very big influence on my playing. But my absolute all time favourite memory has to be seeing Paul McCartney in concert in Toronto in 2002.”
“For style, first and foremost I love classic rock; bands like The Beatles, Rush, The Police, Van Halen etc.. Second is metal! I love bands like Pantera, Slayer, Lamb of God, Tool… but I also like funky stuff like Chili Peppers and Tower of Power. I don;t think I could ever pick a top 3 for drumming songs. My favourites change every day depending on my mood, but today they are: Driven To Tears – The Police, Jerry was a race car driver – Primus, and Ticks and Leeches – Tool.”
“Single most important thing I think a drummer should know? Play for the music!”
