James Hrkach - ART TEACHER
James started out drawing at the age of two (like any other toddler) but was urged to have private lessons while in the first grade of elementary school. He sold his first series of oil paintings at 13 and, after high school, enrolled in the Fine Arts program at Queen's University. There he specialized in figure painting and after graduating Fine Arts with a minor in Art History, attended teacher's college in the Artist in the Community Education program. James taught Art, Photography, Drama and Integrated Arts for 26 years at the secondary level and now works as an artist/designer/illustrator out of his Pakenham studio for the arts.
